A篇
On a hot summer afternoon along the Mandavi River, Shweta Hule wraps her sari around her ankles and bends to pick wild "weeds" from the river and drop them into a bowl. The plants will be made into fritters(炸果饼), to be served at the little restaurant attached to the B&B Hule manages in the Indian coastal town of Vengurla.
Harvesting some of the plant is helping conserve the mangroves(红树林), a globally endangered ecosystem. Hule is head of Swamini, a self-help group set up by nine women from a fishing community in Vengurla who started Mandavi Eco Tourism in 2017. Vengurla is known for its beautiful beaches and seafood, but the climate crisis has made fishing for a living unsustainable, so people are trying to find other sources of income.
Food has also become a key attraction. Hule only discovered recently that the weed was edible when she met tourists from another coastal city. She made her own version of the fritters, with chickpea flour, and presented it at the wild vegetable festival. "It was an instant hit. This boosted the confidence to include these fritters in our restaurant menu," says Hule.

题目
How to Make Train Travel More Enjoyable
Some tips for making train trips as pleasant as possible:
-
Book early. Sleeping accommodations, particularly on long-distance trains, sell out very quickly. 31 But no matter when you travel, it's a good idea to make your reservations at least 90 days in advance.
-
Use a travel agent. Consider turning your travel plan over to a travel agent. A good one can sometimes find you discounted tickets. 32 Then you won't have to walk through several cars on a moving train three times a day for your meals.
-
Bring a blanket. When you're riding on trains, you won't be provided with a blanket for free. 33 In the summer in particular, the air conditioning can make them quite cold.
-
Arrive early. Most trains operate just once a day and some run only three times a week, so missing yours can be a disaster. 34 Note: The times listed on the schedules are departure times, not arrival times.
-
Have fun. 35 Read a book, knit, do a crossword puzzle, or simply watch the world unfold outside the window.
选项:A. Train trips aren't for impatient types. B. You'll have views from both sides. C. The temperature on rail cars is often hard to control. D. That's particularly true during busy summer months. E. You might have to wait longer than 24 hours to catch the next one. F. Chances are the cost will be a lot less. G. He may also book you in a sleeping car that's right next to the diner.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to apply for the position of a volunteer for the upcoming Chinese painting exhibition in your gallery. I am a Chinese student currently studying in London, and I have a deep passion for traditional Chinese painting.
I have a good command of both Chinese and English, which enables me to introduce the paintings to visitors from different countries without any language barrier. Besides, I have learned Chinese painting for more than ten years, so I have a profound understanding of the artistic features and cultural connotations behind the works.
If I am lucky enough to be a volunteer, I can guide visitors around the exhibition, explain the stories behind the paintings, and help organize interactive activities like simple painting workshops for visitors who are interested. I am sure I can do the job well with my enthusiasm and relevant experience.
Looking forward to your early reply.
Sincerely, Li Hua
